new assembly experience... what do you reckon to this one?
by purrpurr inok so aparently there was this young girl who wanted to study with the jw's because she loved the bible so much.
she asked her fathers permission but he refused, after much nagging though he said she could have a study if she was prepared to have one of her fingers chopped off.
he thought the is would stop her but she was willing so he got a knife and cut off one of her fingers... a little while later she wanted to attend the meetings and he said no and again when nagged said she could attend meetings if she had another finger chopped off so she agreed and he chopped off a second finger.

"The Waters" of Jehovah are drying up in Australia...65% young ones leave!
by Witness 007 inat the international convention last week i caught up with my old congregation and asked about the young ones...there were 2 answers.
1. they flat out left got a boyfriend etc.
and 2. havent seen them for awhile meaning they faded or went off the grid so as not to be disfellowshipped.

This is goos news. Most who stay in don't do much anyway. It's a lifestyle/culture like living islam. I'm glad the Australian kids are leaving. Our education system teaches kids to be critical and it must be working.

I never pioneered but I can tell you I've saved a fortune since I left the cult early last year. I earn less than I ever did because of work fluctuations but seem to have more money, a car not under finance and my own home.

Memorial 2015
by ctrwtf inso the dw and i a re considering a trip to see some extended familly still very much "in.
" so to avoid any embarassing situations we wanted to check when the memorial date was.
it turns out the first full moon after the vernal equinox is april 4th, 2015.. here's the good part...it's also the night of a full lunar eclipse.

by jwleaks indocuments and media releases relating to the shunning and discrimination of a special needs child by jehovahs witnesses in relation to the melbourne international convention, 17-19 october 2014. the following documents and press release were received by jw leaks in relation to the jehovahs witnesses international convention at etihad stadium, melbourne, australia.
it is understood that due to last minute information in relation to the administration and control of the first aid health services at the convention the following press documents had not been released to the media.. prior to publishing and releasing the following sensitive information, the members of the team at jw leaks made formal inquiries with the victorian workcover authority (vwa) and the administrators of etihad stadium (melbourne stadiums limited) as to whether measures have been put in place to prevent the jehovahs witnesses and watchtower bible and tract society of australia from operating any first aid health services and first aid department in alleged breach of applicable health and safety laws.. we were assured that the jehovahs witnesses will no longer have control of the first aid management at the event but that st john ambulance first aid officers will be on site for each of the three days.
it is our understanding that this was done for the purpose of protecting the health and safety of all 70,000 daily patrons and delegates attending the convention.
